Having failed to eliminate
the Affordable Care Act,
Republicans then wanted
to eliminate the office of
the U.S. Attorney General.
 
They undoubtedly planned to leave
the office vacant at least for the
next two years* -- by not approving
any appointment for that position
while Obama was still President.
