Political Factoid
Many Republicans are
"blamed by association."
- Many Republicans are long-time
Republicans, having been
Republicans since before they
were old enough to vote.
- Some have been Republicans
since before the Southern
white Democrats became
Republicans.
- Most have been Republicans
since before the "unlimited
money" was unleashed
by the U.S. Supreme Court
and the Tea Party rose out
of the shadows.
- Most Republicans struggle
to hang onto their historic
belief in the Republican Party
(as they remember it).
- All Republicans get blamed
by the rest of the nation
(and perhaps the world)
for the illogical tirades
of the Tea Party and
conservative extremists.
- There is "legitimate rape."
- President Obama is a Muslim.
- President Obama is anti-American.
- Cutting taxes always creates jobs.
- Eliminating the minimum wage
will reduce poverty.
- Children, the elderly, the disabled,
the invalids, all should be required
to work in order to qualify for food
stamps and health care.
- Single mothers should be required to
work for less than the cost of day
care for their children.
- It is better to let the nation to
default than to plug corporate
tax loopholes.
- We should bomb first and ask
questions later.
- . . . .
And when Trump got to be president, things
got even worse -- and his Republican
supporters willingly and eagerly acted to
justify that blame.
