Political Factoid

In his 2016 State of the State
speech, Gov. Rick Snyder (R-MI)
blamed the Flint, Michigan,
water disaster on a failure of
leadership at the local, state,
and national levels.
  • Local? -- Gov. Snyder threw out
    the locally elected officals in
    Flint and installed his personally
    selected "emergency manager"
    who started the problem.

  • State? -- The governer-appointed
    emergency manager caused the
    problem by substituting
    untreated water which ruined
    the water pipes, poisoned the
    people, and caused Legionaires
    disease deaths -- while the
state EPA covered up the problem.

  • National? -- The federal
    government did absolutely
    nothing to cause the
    problem ... but did respond
    promptly once the Governor
    belatedly asked for help.*
* Which was after Gov. Snyder and
coherts had stonewalled and covered
up the problem for more than a year.
