State taxpayers set up a means
for funding the needs of public
education
. . . and subsequently the
politicians just steal from it
to pay for other needs.
Some examples:
- Washington - State Lottery created
explicitly to pay for public schools
Lottery funds subsequently diverted to
pay for independent, privately operated
"charter" schools*
- Iowa - Sales Tax increased explicitly
to pay for school infrastructure
That increase subsequently siphoned
off to pay for water quality needs.

Charter schools are not accountable to the
taxpayers and do not have to follow all of
the rules that public schools must.
