Political Factoid

When viewed collectively,
this collection of political
factoids has acquired
more than a hint of an
anti-Republican tint
during recent years.*

This has been caused by
the cumulative effect of:
  • The job-killing Republican
    economic policies and
    un-paid-for Bush wars.

  • The massive Bush tax cuts
    for the wealthy and the
    Great Recession that ensued.

  • The Republican obstructionism
    and bigotry that began in
    January of 2009.

  • The stop-paying-the-bills
    of the Tea Party Caucus
    starting in 2011.

  • The voter restrictions of
    the Freedom Party Caucus.

  • The ALT-right invasion
    of Donald Trump in 2015.

  • The self-destruction of the
    the Republican Party in 2016.

  • The supermassive tax cuts
    for big corporations and
    the wealthiest individuals
    at the end of 2017.

  • The Trump tariffs of 2018.

  • The government shutdown
    of 2019 and repeated
    Trump obstructionism,
    quid pro quos, etc.

  • The blind worship of
    Donald Trump in 2020,
    inspite of a tragic reponse
    to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The rulings of the stacked
    McConnell-Trump Supreme
    Court in 2022.

  • The lockstep takeover of
    the Republican party by
    the Christian Nationalist
    movement to crucify
    democracy.

  • The facist movement
    spreading throughout
    the Republican party
    and the drive for
    autocratic control
    led by Donald Trump.

  • The lower voter turnout in
    2024 and the take over
    by Donald Trump (again),
    this time without any
    guardrails.

  • The kowtowing of Republicans
    to the never-elected, most
    wealthy American immigrant,
    and defacto President, Elon
    Musk. prior to the 2025
    inauguration.

  • The unlawful, revenge-oriented
    wrecking ball of the second
    Trump administration and
    its minions.

  • ... and lots of things in between
* Not so much of a liberal bias, but
more of a centrist, pro-democracy
view than today's Republican
ALT-right and MAGA extremes.
