An ultra-conservative federal budget:[2011]
Reduce spending by cutting 1/2 of all infrastructure budgets.
- Bridges - only fund building half-spans.
- Roads - only fund building the lanes going in one direction,
i.e., only one side of the street.
- Levies - only fund building levees for the downstream part of town.
- Sewer treatment plants - only fund building for half the forecasted load and expect people to just hold the other half.
- Air traffic control -- only fund hiring air traffic controllers for daylight hours.
Alternately, fund only the control of takeoffs.
- Drinking water - only fund the treatment of 1/2 of the drinking water.*
- Fire protection - only fund fighting the first half of a fire.
Alternately, only fund fighting fires which have been "proven" to have been caused by arson.
