When George Orwell published his book,
"1984," readers invariably assumed that
"Big Brother" was the government.
(Many blindly and stubbornly still do.)
In reality, "Big Brother" is collectively the large,
for-profit corporations which have assembled
massive data farms which are now being
used with data mining, data hoarding, and data
manipulation technologies to intimidate,
manipulate, coerce, and control much of
today's society.
