Political Factoid
The expiration of a 35-year-old
unemployment tax in 2011 will
save businesses nationwide
more than $14 billion over the
next decade.
For example, that is nearly $20 million
a year in savings for Wal-Mart (based
on its 1.4 million U.S. workers).
Of course, after 35 years, unemployment
still has not gone away ...
and now, so much for replenishing
the federal unemployment trust funds.*
