Political Factoid

The Republican governor* of Virginia
was a very outspoken critic
of raising the national debt limit.
... until, that is, he was notified by
Moody's (the credit rating agency)
that his state's credit rating would
be significantly cut if the national
credit rating was downgraded due
to not raising the debt limit.
*  Gov. Bob McDonnell (R-VA), who was
later convicted of corruption while in office,
and was sentenced to two years in prison.
