The products of free trade:   (A few examples)
Food is cheaper. The United States can no longer feed itself.
From a national defense stand point, the United States is dependent upon foreign food supplies, with longer food chains, and is at increased risk of sabotage to food supplies.
Clothes are cheaper. The United States can no longer clothe itself.
The US is now a dependent nation.
Steel is cheaper. The steel industry in the United States is a faint shell of what it once was, and will no longer support war-time needs for large structures.
Cars are cheaper. The car industry is no longer dominated by American car manufacturers.
"So goes General Motors, so goes the nation."
Phone service is cheaper. The family phone bill is higher now than it ever was when Ma Bell led the industry.
