Political Factoid
Regardless what the government does,
significant new jobs have just not been
forthcoming:
- Assume the Democrats caved and granted all the
spending cuts the Republicans want:
- It would not decrease the existing debt.
- It might minimize adding to the debt.
- It would certainly not add significant jobs.
- It would cause massive increase in layoffs.
- It would reduce consumer spending.
- Assume the Democrats caved and granted all the
tax cuts the Republicans want:
- It would significantly add to the national debt.
- It would increase profits.
- It might increase stock prices.
- It would likely increase mergers and acquisitions.
- There is no guarantee that it would create any
new jobs.
The nation's economy is simply being held
hostage by the cash-rich, acquisition-oriented,
multi-national corporations.
