Wealthy individuals only pay tax
for Social Security on the first
portion of their annual wages. 
 
In all, payroll taxes make up
a much smaller portion of family
income* of wealthy Americans
than it does for the working and
middle class.
 
* Wealthy people have much of their income
from other than wages, i.e., dividends,
interest, and capital gains, none of which
are taxed
to help pay for Social Security,
Medicare, or Medicaid.
