In the world of TV sales, Glenn Beck's show was called an example of "empty calories."
That is, he may have drawn some great ratings but he was toxic for the sale of advertising.
In September of 2010, about 300 advertisers asked that their commercials not be shown on Beck's show. In addition, Fox [Cable Network] also had a difficult time selling ads on "The O'Reilly Factor" and "Fox and Friends" when Beck appeared on those shows as a guest.
