Political Factoid
For-profit corporations arrogantly practice medicine with no license required.
Example:
- The doctor is concerned that the patient may have a serious infection in the spine, and orders an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) procedure.
- The for profit insurance corporation say, "No, that is too expensive and would adversely affect our bottom line and executive bonuses."
- This forces a long, complicated appeal process to be pursued.
- Meanwhile, the patient is in considerable pain.
- And if the doctor's suspicions are correct, the spinal infection continues to get worse and cause more damage and medical complications.
