- He was denied medical care for a "pre-existing" condition (which had been covered by the previous employer's insurance company).
- With optimism, he voted for Barack Obama and for change.

- He lost his sales job due to the recession.
- After month's of unemployment, he got a part-time, seasonal job at minimum wage.

- Due to his unemployment, the bank foreclosed on his house.
- Out of desperation he voted for a Tea Party candidate and the promise of "jobs, jobs, jobs."

- His wife's teaching job was eliminated by the Tea Party politicians.
- His family completely lost their health insurance.
- The Tea Party dominated Congress and state legislature and focused on union busting, fringe social agenda items, restricting voting rights, cutting taxes for the corporations and the wealthy, and but did nothing to create American jobs.
- Naturally, he felt double-crossed and abandoned.

- If he can maintain his enthusiasm for voting, he plans to help vote out those Tea Party charlatans and other right-wing extremists.
- Success was limited due to Republican redistricting and voter suppression actions.
- His choice for President won by a wide margin.
