Political Factoid

The Republican "ban" on Senate earmarks,
announced shortly after the 2010 midterm elections,
certainly did not last very long.
Almost immediately Republic Senator Kyl of Arizona
tacked on a $200 Million earmark for his home state
(he just did not "call" it an earmark.)
In fairness, it should be noted that two Democrat earmarks got tacked onto the same bill.  However, the Democrats had not proposed, voted for, nor touted such a ban as had the Republicans.
