Political Factoid
Employers and universities have asked*
applicants to surrender their user names
and passwords for social networking
sites like Facebook and Twitter.
After a complaint from the ACLU,
they switched to asking* each
applicant to log into their
account, and let the interviewer
watch as they clicked through
friends, photos, posts, and
anything else that might be
inside their semi-private world.
That is about as comfortable as a strip search.

While submitting to such a Twitter or Facebook
review is voluntary, it well may be critical to
getting accepted by that school or employer.
