Political Factoid
Government e-mails are required by law
to be preserved as official records, and
later can be examined by citizens, news
organizations, watchdog groups, political
opponents, ... and historians.
This does not happen when
public officials use (often secretly)
private e-mail accounts to perform
their public jobs.
Free accounts* from commercial
providers are owned (copyrighted) by
those big commercial providers ... and
that is a whole 'nother story.
