Political Factoid
The U.S. Constitution did not
originally guarantee the right to
vote ... to non-whites, to women,
to non-landowners,
i.e., the majority of the working class.
For them, the right to vote had to be
fought for, and won the hard way,
over centuries.
Now most Republican legislatures,
and many conservative members
of the party, want to turn the
clock back 200 years.
