Political Factoid
The United States Constitution identifies
various players:
- The people
- The states
- The [federal] government
- The President and the Vice President
- The Congress
- The Senators and Representatives
- The Speaker (of the House)
- The Supreme Court
- The Justices and the Chief Justice
- The (lesser) Tribunals
- The Indian Tribes
- The Navy, the Armies, and the Malitia
- The Commander in Chief
- The Ambassators, Ministers, and Consuls
- Foreign nations
Notably absent are corporations and non-profit
organizations, most of which today:
- Own trillions and trillions of dollars of assets,
including massive stables of patents and other
intellectual properties.
- Receive the protection of the Department of
Defense, other government security agencies,
and the courts.
- Benefit from government grants, government
research, government loans, and many
government services.
- Pay little or no taxes, certainly not their fair share.
