Political Factoid

The United States Constitution identifies
various players:
  • The people
  • The states
  • The [federal] government
  • The President and the Vice President
  • The Congress
  • The Senators and Representatives
  • The Speaker (of the House)
  • The Supreme Court
  • The Justices and the Chief Justice
  • The (lesser) Tribunals
  • The Indian Tribes
  • The Navy, the Armies, and the Malitia
  • The Commander in Chief
  • The Ambassators, Ministers, and Consuls
  • Foreign nations
Notably absent are corporations and non-profit
organizations, most of which today:
  1. Own trillions and trillions of dollars of assets,
including massive stables of patents and other
    intellectual properties.

  2. Receive the protection of the Department of
    Defense, other government security agencies,
    and the courts.

  3. Benefit from government grants, government
    research, government loans, and many
    government services.

  4. Pay little or no taxes, certainly not their fair share.
