Political Factoid
Big money interests and conservative
politicians constantly claim that
everything can be done better by
private enterprise (i.e., for-profit entities,
like corporations) than by the government.
They fight against government
insurance programs, such as Social
Security and Medicare, trying to get
those programs privatized.
Flood insurance is an example
of how private enterprise and
for-profit insurance companies
can do so much better ...
... that they now completely refuse
to offer flood insurance coverage.
