Political Factoid

"Surging stock prices and
steady home-price increases
have finally allowed Americans
to regain the $16 trillion in
wealth they lost to the Great
Recession."

Except, of course, for those people
who had to sell in their stocks and
mutual funds during the depths of
the recession, those people who
had to cash in their 401Ks, and
those people who had their homes
foreclosed by the fat banks.
In other words, much of that $16 trillion
in wealth was transferred from the middle
class to those closer to the top.
