Political Factoid
After 20 years, many people
who originally supported
NAFTA, the fair trade act
with Mexico, now recognize
that they were wrong.
- Many, many American jobs were lost.
- In Mexico it did help create
jobs, albeit low-paid ones.
- The wage gap between the U.S.
and Mexico is still there.
- The border problems remain
(and maybe more so).
- The rich got richer and
the poor got poorer.
- It is obvious that the benefits
went primarily to large corporations
-- Duhh!
