Political Factoid
"Give me your tired, your poor, your
huddled masses yearning to breathe
free."
-- Emma Lazarus' sonnet, New Colossus

More and more Americans believe
that these words on the Statue of
Liberty are no longer universally
true.
- They apply only to limited numbers
(i.e., quotas) of people from selected
groups.
- They were originally valid when
the nation still had vast undeveloped
lands virtually free for the taking.
- Now that the "new nation"
ponzi scheme has burst
... a growing number of people*
are saying "we cannot afford
to take in all of these people."
